Will Connelly is a figurative painter with an abstract twist, focusing on themes of the human condition and memory.

Born and bred in the north west Connelly now works between Manchester and London.

Describing his work as ‘violent and expressive’, Connelly uses different textures of oil paint to explore memory, conscious and the subconscious mind.

The often shocking nature of Connelly’s work is only accentuated by a colour palette of sickly tones, which he uses to express his bold and claustrophobic images – often probing self-reflection from their onlooker.

His style has evolved from stark and telling portraits to abstract metaphors about what it means to be human in the 21st century.
